I am rebalancing my IRA's from stocks to bonds. I was thinking of rolling
over to a checking account instead of letting the funds transfer (they take
at least 10 days) and trying to catch the stocks on an upswing and the bonds
on a downswing. I realize that this is a sort of timing but at least I would
have a little more control on the price at the time of change.
The last couple of times it has meant about a $1000 loss each time I
switched. |

Why not a money market fund with one of your fund families? |

If he is rebalancing from stocks to bonds, why not just go directly to
a bond fund? This guy is doing something screwy. |
